This original South Vietnamese tailored Tigerstripe BDU set is an authentic relic from the Vietnam War, custom-made for and worn by a U. Tigerstripe camouflage was never officially issued by the U. Military, but it became a hallmark of elite forces operating in the jungles of Vietnam. Highly sought after for its rarity and historical significance, this set exemplifies the craftsmanship of in-country tailors who produced uniforms for American personnel.

Tigerstripe camouflage was originally designed for South Vietnamese forces, particularly elite ARVN (Army of the Republic of Vietnam) units such as Rangers and Special Forces. Special Operations units-including Green Berets, Navy SEALs, and MACV-SOG operatives-recognized its effectiveness in jungle warfare and adopted it for their own use. Unlike mass-produced uniforms, South Vietnamese-tailored Tigerstripe BDUs varied in cut, fabric, and pattern depending on where they were made. Many were produced in small tailor shops in Saigon, Da Nang, and other cities, using locally sourced materials. These uniforms became a symbol of the elite and unconventional warfare units that wore them, setting them apart from regular infantry forces.

Hem: Raw-cut pant cuffs, a common feature on wartime Tigerstripe BDUs. Condition: Incredible condition overall, with only a minor 3/4 tear on the back of the top, easily repairable.
